at 6pm on 17th June at The Leeds Library.
I’m feeling slightly skittish, with my ninth collection of poetry being launched on the 17thJune; I’m not sure that the feelings of excitement [mixed in with a healthy dose of dread] ever go away. Besides , I reassure myself, this could be my last published poetic gasp, as I am very old. To be honest this is what I’ve always told myself.. it’s a get out clause of sorts. We’ll see.
But I’m very lucky. The Leeds Library, where in 1971/72 I did lot of reading for my MA [Wordsworth and William Godwin if you’re asking] has offered to host the event as part of the fabulous Leeds Literature Festival. It will all take place in their marvellous new events room, easily accessible via a lift a few shops along from the Library’s main entrance. It will be the first poetry and festival event in this new space. Click on the link and you can book your tickets.
Please note that this is the private lending library on Commercial Street in Leeds and not the [also magnificent] Central Lending Library next to the Town Hall.
